Professional Summary

I am a strategic leader with over 30 years’ experience in marine insurance, combining C‑Suite operational oversight with a focus on governance, people and capability development. I specialise in shaping organisational direction, building high‑performing teams, and embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. I hold the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice and am a Chartered Manager.

Strategic leadership and culture

I have been a central member of the Directorate responsible for developing and delivering the company’s international growth strategy over the past decade. I translate strategic intent into measurable priorities, align resources to those priorities and design leadership behaviours and cultural norms that sustain long‑term performance. My priorities are clarity of purpose, transparent decision making and targeted investment in learning to drive engagement and retention.

Governance and regulatory leadership

As a Board Director I lead corporate governance, compliance and company secretariat responsibilities. I interpret regulatory change and design pragmatic implementation programmes that balance legal obligations with commercial realities. I led the end‑to‑end design and rollout of SM&CR at my previous company, defining operating models, communicating requirements, and establishing the policies, controls and review cycles required for ongoing compliance.

Strategic change and operational programmes

I have led major strategic and operational initiatives that delivered measurable outcomes, including:

  • Operational leadership through an MBO and subsequent sale.
  • Design and implementation HR, Compliance and GDPR frameworks.
  • Creation of an annual L&D programme aligned to strategic capability gaps.
  • IT strategy leadership to support digital transformation and operational resilience.
  • Design and implementation of return‑to‑office plans across three companies during COVID.
  • Project management of office relocations for approximately 150 staff.

I bring calmness and empathy to the coaching partnership, with the aim of providing a fresh insight to my client’s thinking. My emphasis is on releasing an individual’s potential and supporting them to achieve their desired goal.

Prince2 qualified

From office moves to the rolling out of systems and controls, project management is key to the many operational requirements of a business. Organisation, attention to detail, communication and a good sense of humour are just some of the necessary skills to be an effective project manager.
